Students at Syracuse Academy apply to some of the most competitive colleges and universities. Our full-time college guidance office is dedicated to helping students achieve their educational goals and to reach their greatest potential.

Scholarships
Students earn millions in scholarship funds annually through higher-ed institutions as well as other sources. The Class of 2014 amassed a total of $3.7 million in scholarships.

Say Yes to Education
Syracuse Academy students are eligible for Say Yes to Education tuition scholarships. Like Syracuse Academy, Say Yes is dedicated to increasing graduation rates and supporting students throughout their secondary education and beyond, ensuring success in college, career and citizenship.

In August 2014 New York State released the 3-8 ELA and Mathematics Assessment Data. Syracuse Academy of Science is pleased to have exceeded New York State averages for the majority of the assessments. Data provided through state assessments is used by administrators and teachers to identify opportunities for improvement. Syracuse Academy is dedicated to improving education and believes there is always room for improvement and growth as students seek to become successful in college, career and citizenship.

Cohort Graduation Rates
Syracuse Academy of Science Charter School (SAS) outperformed both New York State and Syracuse City School District graduation rates for 2012-13.

89.4 percent of Syracuse Academy students who entered high school in 2009 graduated in 2013 compared to the NYS average of 74.9 percent and 48.8 percent for the Syracuse City School District.

Syracuse Academy saw 95.0 percent of Black students and 88.9 percent of Hispanic students in the 2009 cohort receive diplomas in 2013 compared to 59.7 and 59.2 percent respectively for New York State overall. Syracuse Academy also surpassed both NYS and SCSD averages in its focus area of economically disadvantaged students with a rate of 85.4 percent.

Syracuse Academy offers a small, safe, nurturing environment to students. With class sizes of no more than 22-25 students, and schools that feel like a family, our staff knows our students individually and works with them and their families to achieve the best possible outcome for each student.
