Talking about feelings with #SASCS Elementary Students

On Thursday, May 3rd, 2018 students discussed the important topic of feelings. Mr. Derek from the McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Center came and read "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good Very Bad Day" to Ms. Peryea's class. Mr. Derek discussed feelings and who our "feelings helpers" can be at home and at school. We strive to teach students to communicate their feelings in a healthy and productive way. To teach them to differentiate between good and bad feelings, and how to handle the bad feelings, so that they can then turn into good ones with positive outcomes. Students were sent home with a feelings coloring book to fill in and discuss with their parents.
