Why are ghosts so bad at telling lies? Because you can see right through them!
There weren’t many ghosts at Syracuse Academy of Science Elementary School’s Fall festival costume parade, but there were plenty of princesses! That’s because the theme of this year’s parade was Walt Disney with Disney characters! Staff, students, and even some parents dressed up in costumes for an outdoor parade around the playground, followed by some fall crafts and activities in classrooms.
We hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween!
Friday, October 28th, 2022: Syracuse Academy of Science Elementary School's character trait for October was Trustworthiness. To be trustworthy means to be reliable, keep promises, and do what you say you will do. Trustworthiness also means telling the truth and being honest with words and actions, even when it may be difficult.
Congratulations to Mrs. Eno, Ms. Pikowski, and all of our students of the month for being so Trustworthy!
Tuesday, November 1st, 2022: It’s #SpiritWeek here at Syracuse Academy of Science High School and these Atoms prove there is no “I” in team by showing support for their favorite sports team!
Day two of spirit week is Fandom day. These are just a few of the students sporting their favorite gear.
Monday, October 24th, 2022: Syracuse Academy of Science Second Grade Atoms celebrated the start of Diwali.
Students practiced meditating, made paper lanterns, and a Rangoli craft to celebrate this festival of lights. Diwali is a five-day religious festival and one of the most important festivals within Hinduism. 2nd Grade had just finished their Ancient Asian Civilizations unit, which lined up nicely with Diwali.
Monday, October 24th, 2022: “Family trees need strong branches and deep roots.” As part of our efforts to increase Culturally Responsive Teaching, Syracuse Academy of Science Elementary School will encourage families to participate in various Family Projects during the school year. Students and families were tasked with creating a Family Tree together in October. Where we come from and who encompasses our families are an important part of who we are, and a family tree project allows students to show off their backgrounds. These are just a small sample of some of the beautiful and thought-out family trees that came into school.
Thank you to all the parents, guardians, and family members that helped our scholars make this first Family Project a great success!
Please visit our Facebook page to see more of the beautiful creations.
