Gathering in Peace with the Wacheva Dance and Drum Studio

Did you know that the name of the traditional Djembe drum comes from the saying "Anke djé, anke bé" which translates to "everyone gather together in peace" Our #SASAtoms gathered together in peace with the Wacheva Dance and Drum Studio CNY to participate in an African Drumming and Dancing workshop.

#SASAtoms rotated through centers where they learned different beats on the djembe drum, listened to the dundun drum and singing, learned a cultural dance from the Ivory Coast. Expanding students knowledge of the world by learning about diverse cultures is just one of the ways we are building success one ATOM at a time.
