6th Grade Atom Won Juneteenth Essay Writing Contest

6th grade student, Preston, won the 2019 Juneteenth essay writing contest

Wednesday, June 19, 2019—Syracuse, New York is home to one of the largest Juneteenth celebrations in the nation. A yearly festival held in downtown Syracuse, communities from the surrounding area partake in the celebration. This year during the Juneteenth festival, our very own 6th grade Atom won the essay writing contest. What's more, Preston, read his essay to the city officials in front of City Hall. In attendance was Syracuse Mayor, Ben Walsh. Congratulations, Preston!
