Thursday, November 21, 2019—The Erie Canal plays an important role in the history of Syracuse. Fourth grade Atoms learned about the rich history of the canal along with its importance not only in Syracuse but for the trade and travel. Students visited the Erie Canal Museum on a field trip where they where they were able to see how different life was in the 1800s, and were even allowed to board a model of a ship that would have traveled on the canal. Thank you Erie Canal Museum for such a dynamic hands-on experience.
