  • What is one major accomplishment you had in your senior year of high school? Being in National Honors Society.
  • What are your goals for after high school? To attend college and begin my career in real estate.
  • Name one person that inspires you? Drake - everyone has to know this!
  • What advice would you give to the next senior class? Do what you want to do! Don’t waste time trying to please others when you’re not pleased! Always face reality!
  • Where do you see yourself in five years? I see myself as a college graduate and beginning to become a successful businessman.
  • If you could have dinner with any person living or dead who would they be and why? Elon Musk, I just have a ton of questions for him on how he lives life outside of the money.
  • Name three traits that describe you? Humble, creative and loyal
  • What is your favorite hobby? Listening to music with the guys.
  • What is a hidden talent that no one or only a few people know about you? I can sing, dance, and DJ.
  • What is your favorite memory of SAS? Definitely Pep Rallies - It’s so lit when the whole school comes together and dances and represents their class and the school as a whole.

Atoms host Virtual Poetry Slam for Poetry Month

Syracuse Academy of Science elementary school hosts a virtual Poetry Slam in honor of National Poetry Month. The theme for this year’s Poetry Slam was, ‘What Makes Me an Amazing Kid.’

Monday, April 26th, 2021In honor of National Poetry Month, Syracuse Academy of Science elementary school hosted its annual Poetry Slam virtually this year. Throughout the month, the students have been working diligently learning about the various types of poetry, and submitted a poem for this year’s Poetry Slam. The theme was, ‘What Makes Me and Amazing Kid.’

We would like to give a quick shout out and snaps to Ms. Irvine who helped narrate the poems written by the talented Atoms, and for all those who helped make this event possible. Vazcee Robinson Signs with the OCC Lazers

Syracuse Academy of Science high school senior, Vazcee Robinson officially signs with Onondaga Community College to play women’s basketball for the Lazers.

  • What is your greatest accomplishment? Writing and producing plays. 
  • Best book you have ever read? The Sun Also Rises.
  • What is one thing you cannot resist?(food/dessert/candy/etc.) Starburst Jelly Beans.
  • If you could have dinner with one person living or dead who would they be and why? FDR  He's got some stories!
  • What advice would you give to kids who are struggling at school? It gets easier with practice.
  • Tell us, what is something that might surprise us about you? I own a publishing company and I didn't get a driver's license until I was 33.

Atoms Celebrate Earth Day by Creating Ecosystems

The Syracuse Academy of Science elementary students create their own ecosystems in honor of Earth Day.

Tuesday, April 13th, 2021In honor of Earth Day, the 4th grade students at Syracuse Academy of Science elementary school participated in a hands-on, minds-on opportunity to learn about the four types of ecosystems. The four ecosystems include: artificial, terrestrial, lentic and lotic. To create these ecosystems, students took turns to follow the steps in the procedure and worked together to answer the questions in the science experiment. What a creative and fun way to learn about ecosystems and to celebrate Earth Day!

The 6th Grade Atoms Achieve Symmetrical Balance

The Syracuse Academy of Science 6th grade students in Ms. Brett’s art class put their creativity to the test when drawing and creating name symmetry.

Monday, April 12th, 2021We promise, you are not seeing double, it’s just the creativity of the Syracuse Academy of Science middle school 6th grade students in Ms. Brett’s art class. The Atoms have been putting their creativity to the test when tasked with creating a fun design using name symmetry. For this project, students used bilateral symmetry or reflection symmetry, where an object is mirrored or reflected across a plane to create another instance of itself. Sign, sealed Delivered

Syracuse Academy of Science 6th grade PBL students wrote to both national and local elected officials expressing their views on current events happening in the world.

Monday, April 12th, 2021Syracuse Academy of Science 6th grade PBL students expressed their thoughts and views on current events such as: cyberbullying, wildfires, Coronavirus, and climate change (just to name a few) to both National and Local government officials. One such elected official was New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo. 

Governor Cuomo responded to the Atoms with a note saying:

"Thank you very much for your letter. It's always great to hear from one of our state's future leaders. I appreciate you reaching out and sharing your prospective with me. It's never too early to get involved in the work that our state government does, and I thank you for taking the initiative and lending your voice to our efforts. I hope you'll continue to stay engaged as we confront our current challenges and work to ensure a stronger, safer future for you, your fellow students, and all New Yorkers. Thank you again for taking part in your government. I hope to connect with you again soon. Until then, I encourage you to stay up to date on your efforts at https://www.governor.ny.gov/."

  • Where do you see yourself in five years? Playing in the WNBA.
  • If you could have dinner with any person living or dead who would they be and why? Kobe Bryant - I want to ask him about his mentality off & on the court.
  • Name three traits that describe you? Caring, social and lovable.
  • What is your favorite hobby? Gaming
  • What is a hidden talent that no one or only a few people know about you? I can do gymnastics.
