Friday, February 5th, 2021—Syracuse Academy of Science had an opportunity to interview one of its members of the senior class. This week for our Senior Spotlight, we shine the light on this future entrepreneur, Anadya Hill. Interview with Anadya Hill

• What is one major accomplishment you had in your senior year of high school? Passed my college classes.
• What are your goals for after high school? Graduating from basic training and successfully owning my own business.
• Name one person that inspires you? My mom (Samantha)
• What advice would you give to the next senior class? Keep your head up, don’t give up, and put your mind to whatever you put your mind to.
• Where do you see yourself in five years? Owning my own car and house and married.
• If you could have dinner with any person living or dead who would they be and why? The Obama family and Kobe Bryant.
• Name three traits that describe you? Smart, successful and blessed.
• What is your favorite hobby? I like to read from time to time, and make TikTok videos.
• What is a hidden talent that no one or only a few people know about you? I can do hair.
• What is your favorite memory of SAS? The pep rally and college visits.

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2021—Earlier this week, the Syracuse Academy of Science Atoms were greeted early in the morning by the sweet sound of a ‘SNOW DAY!’ The students took a pause from remote learning and enjoyed the winter wonderland (and feet of snow) with their families and helping neighbors and those in need with snow removal. Stay warm Atoms and keep up the great work.

Friday, January 29th, 2021—As January came to a close, Syracuse Academy of Science elementary school hosted its virtual January Student of the Month ceremony. Tuesday, January 26th, 2021—Many Atoms, one family! The Syracuse Academy of Science middle school students share their love and appreciation for their school during School Choice Week. Syracuse Academy of Science charter schools are currently accepting applications for the 2021 - 2022 school year.

Friday, January 29th, 2021—We all know that Syracuse Academy of Science elementary school is a ‘cool school,’ but do you know how cool it really is? Let’s find out! Prior to National School Choice week - a week dedicated too promote parental choice in their children's education and celebration of our school community, teachers asked their students this question, ‘why do you love Syracuse Academy of Science (SAS)?’ Their responses were collected and compiled into a short video. Friday, January 29th, 2021—As we get ready to shine the spotlight on our next esteemed staff and faculty member of Syracuse Academy of Science High School, we just wanted to give a quick shout out for all the hard work she has done this year. To some you may just be a counselor, but to the Atoms at SAS you are a hero. Without further ado, let us shine the spotlight on high school counselor, Mrs. Bartelli. • What three traits define you? Empathetic, Conscientious, Optimistic.
• What is your greatest accomplishment? Completing my Master's Degree in School Counseling at Syracuse University.
• Best book you have ever read? Les Misérables by Victor Hugo
• What is one thing you cannot resist?(food/dessert/candy/etc.) Hot fudge sundae
• If you could have dinner with one person living or dead who would they be and why? President Lincoln, so that I can learn more about his ability to persevere while attempting to lead this country through the Civil War, preserving the Union, and issuing the Emancipation Proclamation.
• What advice would you give to kids who are struggling at school? Never give up and always do your very best!  Know that everyone experiences struggles at some point in their life. Ask for help if you need it, and trust that everyone at SAS is willing to help you succeed.
• Tell us, what is something that might surprise us about you? I used to be an Associate Research Scientist for Bristol Myers Squibb Co.

Monday, January 25th, 2021—Does it get any better than welcoming back the Hybrid Learning Atoms and new SMARTBoards in the classroom? We think not! The Syracuse Academy of Science elementary school students had an incredible welcome back gift awaiting them in the classroom, SMARTBoards. To say the students were excited is an understatement. But we can say, there were more volunteers than usual to answer and solve math problems at the board. I think the Atoms were eager to try out their new gift. Please note the markers were sanitized and changed between each student’s use.

Tuesday, January 19th, 2021—Syracuse Academy of Science is excited to share its very own elementary school Atom, Amelia has won the 2021 Virtual Geography Bee. On Tuesday, January 19^th, students Amelia and Chakiir both competed in this year’s competition. Participants were asked a series of questions that would progressively get more challenging each round. Students flexed their geography muscles and knowledge and their hard work certainly showed off. Congratulations, Amelia on winning the 2021 Geography Bee!

Friday, January 8th, 2021- Drop the mic, it’s time for our next Syracuse Academy of Science high school Senior Spotlight. We had the chance to interview the one, the only Aliyah Elliott-Felder, who shared with us her favorite memory at Syracuse Academy of Science, advice she would pass along to future Atoms, if she could have dinner with one person dead or alive who it would be, and so much more. • What is one major accomplishment you had in your senior year of high school? To complete my work on time.
• What are your goals for after high school? Pass every class. Complete my work on time. Study hard and graduate on time.
• Name one person that inspires you? My parents and all my teachers.
• What advice would you give to the next senior class? You may be who you are now but it's not too late to change.
• Where do you see yourself in five years? In college or going to classes for hair, makeup, and nails. 
• If you could have dinner with any person living or dead who would they be and why? I would have dinner with my uncle and grandmother because I have lost the two most important people in my life. I have learned so much from them and I would talk about all the stuff I've done for them, and I knew I would make them proud. 
• Name three traits that describe you? Outgoing, Hard working and Joyful.
• What is your favorite hobby? Doing makeup and dancing.
• What is a hidden talent that no one or only a few people know about you? Everyone knows I love to sing and that's the only talent I have 
• What is your favorite memory of SAS? Getting to know my favorite teachers and making great friends that help me throughout my years.

• What advice would you give to kids who are struggling at school? Work hard and ask for help.
