Atoms Compete in Track & Field State Qualifiers
Wednesday, February 16th, 2022—This month, Syracuse Academy of Science high school Atoms competed in the 2022 Indoor Track and Field Sectional Championship at Onondaga Community College. Students were recognized for their incredible work this season, and many students improved their personal records and advanced to State Qualifiers, which takes place today! Please give a round of applause to the following student-athletes.
- Ermine Reddock, 12th Grade: Weight Throwing Champion & Shot Put, 3rd place.
Ermine holds a personal record and a school-record of 35-4.5 in Weight Throw.
- Christopher Williams, 11th Grade: 55 Meter Dash, 2nd place.
Christopher holds a personal record & school record of 6.79 in the 55 Meter Dash.
- Amir Taylor, 10th Grade: 55 Meter Hurdle & High Jump, 2nd place (in both events).
Amir holds a personal record and a school-record of 6'0" for the High Jump.
Syracuse Academy of Science placed 2nd in the 4x2 Relay. The student-athletes on this team include Nasir Parks, Maffei Krubally, Dzemila Tihic, and Toni Nwaniki.
State Qualifiers begin at 4:00 PM at Onondaga Community College. Congratulations and good luck to coach Donniesha Terry and the student-athletes for all their hard work! Let's bring home the Gold, Atoms.
