DISCOVER WHY STARTING A CAREER WITH SANY IS RIGHT FOR YOU

Opportunities posted online at sany.org/recruitment
At the Science Academies of New York, we believe in a kindness-first approach. We ask our staff to be positive, act positive, and build relationships with colleagues, students, and families. We work from a common question: Is this good for our children?

We use this question to build relationships, drive instruction, develop goals, and reflect on our practice. We seek educators who aim to serve as models of effective behavior and care deeply about the impact they will have on future generations.

We expect our staff to grow continuously, and we support their achievement of this goal. We encourage staff to develop an understanding of the structure and functions of the school and the role each of us plays in the success of our students.

WhySANY ?

Building a Scholar

We believe every child deserves the supports to succeed. These six elements are integral to our daily operations at each SANY school.
1

IDEAL STUDENT TO TEACHER RATIO

SANY elementary schools support an ideal student to teacher ratio of 13:1. Classes of more than 13 scholars have two or more teachers. Middle and high school classes maintain individualized support for students offered through on-staff support interventionists in all SANY buildings.
2

ACCESS TO MODERN TECHNOLOGY

All SANY schools are equipped with modern technology. We offer our educators SmartBoards, Chromebooks, iPads, and laptops to serve their students’ educational needs.
3

THE POWER OF UNIFORMITY

Students in all SANY schools wear a uniform to school each day. By enforcing a strict uniform policy students are able to focus on the school work, not their outfits. Students come to school with a sense of academic purpose, and the uniforms help to create an overall environment of academic excellence.
4

CHARACTER EDUCATION

Education is not just about book smarts. We believe soft skills like leadership, teamwork, kindness, forgiveness, perseverance, and integrity are equally as necessary as a strong academic foundation.
5

CELLPHONE-FREE CLASSROOMS

We believe in the power of technology to prepare our scholars to become critical thinkers. However, we also want students not to feel distracted at school, which is why we operate a strict no-phone policy across all SANY buildings.
6

RESOURCE SERVICES

Special Education is not a place, it is a service. The goal is to provide all students with services necessary for success in the least restrictive classroom environment. Special Education teachers provide accommodations and modifications to the grade level curriculum to help all students be successful.
