College & Career Week: 3rd Graders get a Glimpse into Working Life
Tuesday, December 6th, 2022: It’s College & Career week at Syracuse Academy of Science elementary school. Parent volunteers will be coming into classrooms to talk about their careers and what they do in the community. Our third graders had two parent volunteers to start the week. One parent is a truck driver, and the other works for National Grid. Mr. Contreras told students how he travels from city to city and all across the state, bringing just about everything we have in our house to food in the store! Mrs. Contreras talked about how electricity works in your home and how it’s her job to turn the power back on when it goes out during a storm.
Thank you, Mr. & Mrs. Contreras for taking the time to come and speak to our students! It’s important for them to know about every opportunity they will have after they graduate.
