The Sweet Sound of Music Filled the Air
Tuesday, October 22, 2019—The sound of music filled the elementary classrooms with the help of executive director of Symphoria, Ms. Pam Murchison. Atoms learned about musical instruments such as the flute and piccolo and how music and sound can make an impact on various musicals, plays, movies, etc. Ms. Murchison played a few selections the students were familiar with, one in particular Winnie the Pooh. She mentioned the different sounds and pitches in the piece help tell a story and represent characters in the Hundred Acre Woods. Following the demonstration, Ms. Murchison taught the Atoms how to create their own rainstorm utilizing their body as musical instruments. Thank you Ms. Murchison and Symphoria for sharing with our students the beauty and sound of music.
