On Sunday, June 11, 2017, Evan O’Neill, a 2nd grade student with Type 1 Diabetes along with his family, friends and PE teacher, Mr. Kiggins, rode their bikes in the CNY Tour de Cure. Along with their ride, teachers from the elementary school including Ms. Peryea, Ms. Gielarowski, Ms. Williams, Ms. Chetwin, Ms. Wicks, Ms. Georgiadis and Mrs. Lattuca volunteered their time manning a rest stop on the 65 and 100 mile route. They themed the rest stop with Dr. Seuss, perfectly relevant for elementary school staff. With the O’Neill team Sugar Blue Eyes, the elementary school raised just over $800 toward the American Diabetes Association in the name of finding a cure as a part of their team total of $3,611! We are so proud of Evan for completing the ten mile ride and enjoyed a beautiful, warm day supporting the riders at Tour de Cure.

On Friday, June 2nd, 2017 the SAS Middle School held the May Student of the Month Ceremony. Students were recognized from each class section as well as the specials classes. This is one of the staff's favorite events in that we get to celebrate the amazing qualities of the students selected for the award. Honesty, responsibility, integrity, and fairness are just some of the qualities that we see in our Students of the Month! Keep up the great work ATOMS!

On Friday, June 2nd, 2015 Miss Bittel and Miss Orioli's Student Leadership Club hosted their last dance of the season. This "Summer Fun" themed dance was a hit with the students. Students danced the night away and ate pizza with their friends. All profits from the dance is being donated to our beloved teacher, Miss Knapp, to help her pay for her cancer treatments.
