SAS MS STEAM Club Soars at Rocket Team Challenge

Syracuse Academy of Science Middle School Students Participate in STEM Challenge

Saturday, May 31st, 2025: The Syracuse Academy of Science Middle School STEAM Club proudly participated in the Museum of Science & Technology's Rocket Team Challenge.

Representing SAS with creativity and confidence, the student team, “Blast It Like It’s Hot," successfully launched their model rocket to an impressive height of 166 feet. The event challenged students to apply real-world engineering and science principles, including aerodynamics, propulsion, and teamwork, as they designed and constructed their rockets from scratch.

This experience allowed students to demonstrate their technical knowledge and build essential 21st-century skills such as collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving. The Rocket Team Challenge is one of many ways SAS empowers students to engage with science and engineering in meaningful, hands-on ways outside the classroom. The future is bright, and it's looking up!
