Friday, May 30th, 2025: Syracuse Academy of Science Elementary School celebrated students who best exemplified the character trait of Teamwork throughout the month. Teamwork is the combined effort of a group working collaboratively to achieve a goal efficiently and effectively, an essential skill both inside and outside the classroom.
Celebrating students for positive character traits like teamwork is essential to building a supportive and inclusive school culture. Recognition reinforces the values we strive to instill in our Atoms, boosts confidence, encourages continued growth, and motivates all students to do their best.
Honoring those who lead by example, we’re helping shape responsible, respectful, and resilient learners. Congratulations to the May student of the Month recipients!

Thursday, June 12th, 2025: Syracuse Academy of Science Elementary second graders had a special visit from Syracuse City Judge, Judge Thomas.
Judge Thomas shared inspiring advice with our young scholars:
Finish school and always believe in yourself.
Choose friends who lift you and encourage you.
Be the best version of yourself by making good choices.
He left us with this powerful message:
“You can always be what you want to be, if you just believe in it!”
His words reminded us that anything is possible with confidence, kindness, and hard work! Thank you, Judge Thomas, for inspiring the next generation of leaders!
Wednesday, June 18th, 2025: We’re proud to announce that several Syracuse Academy of Science High School students distinguished themselves as representatives of the Science Academies of New York at the 2025 Genius Olympiad, earning a Bronze Award in Robotics and two Honorable Mentions!
The Genius Olympiad is an internationally renowned competition focusing on environmental issues through science, art, short film, creative writing, business, and robotics. Founded by Terra Science and Education and hosted annually at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), the event brings together thousands of students from over 60 countries.
But the Genius Olympiad is more than just a competition. It celebrates global citizenship, innovation, and cultural exchange. Students participate in events like the International Fair, where they proudly share their heritage and traditions with peers worldwide.
We commend our students for their accomplishments in robotics and environmental awareness and for being exceptional ambassadors of our school community on the world stage.
Way to go, Atoms! You continue to inspire us all with your brilliance, teamwork, and commitment to making a difference.
