Thursday, May 2nd, 2024: Students earning the top dojo points in each Syracuse Academy of Science Middle School class were rewarded with a delicious fancy lunch as a reward. Students are rewarded with dojos each month for being on time, prepared, participating in class, and being good friends/citizens. At the end of the month, the dojos are totaled, and the students with the most are rewarded with different activities. Everyone gets a clean slate at the start of the following month.
Keep up the great work, Atoms!
Friday, March 22nd, 2024: We are thrilled to announce that our dedicated team of students clinched first place at the Syracuse Academy of Science Middle School MathCounts Competition!
These young mathematicians showcased exceptional problem-solving skills, resilience, and teamwork. MathCounts Competition is not just about crunching numbers; it's about critical thinking, strategy, and mastering mathematical concepts.
A big shoutout to our amazing students for their outstanding performance and for representing our school with honor and excellence.
Thursday, April 11th, 2024: Did you know National Teach Children to Save Day was on April 25th? Since Syracuse Academy of Science Elementary School was on Spring Break, the school celebrated with Dollar Dog Day on Thursday, April 11th. Julie Murad-Caruso from Empower and Dollar Dog spoke with second graders about saving, spending, and sharing money! Scholars were active participants in the discussion, stating that we save money to buy a house and that we can share money by giving to people in need!
Dollar Dog stuck around for some pictures and to give a water bottle to every 2nd grader. Thanks, Empower, for stopping by!
Friday, March 22nd, 2024: Seventh-grade Syracuse Academy of Science Middle School students recently enjoyed some friendly competition during a field trip to The Ultimate Goal in Marcellus! Atoms were split into groups that rotated between soccer, dodgeball, kickball, European handball, and capture the flag. Students demonstrated sportsmanship and teamwork!
Thursday, March 21st, 2024: Syracuse Academy of Science second graders recently welcomed two women from SKS Orthodontics. SKS Orthodontics is an orthodontist office in North Syracuse. They spoke with our Atoms about caring for our teeth. They used a giant mouth display to show how to care for our teeth properly.
2nd-graders enjoyed the presentation and learned some helpful ways to care for their oral health! We were excited to be able to display another example of extraordinary women from the community.
