On Thursday, November 9th, 2017, A representative from Le Moyne College visited our high school. Le Moyne is a private college located in Syracuse. NY. Le Moyne has a 13:1 student to faculty ratio and over 30 majors. The average class size is just 20 students.Our Juniors and Seniors learned about academics, student life and admissions. Students asked questions about the college.

On Friday, October 26th, 2017 Jazz player Gerald Veasley had a masterclass with the high school music band class. Students in the band class had a once in a lifetime opportunity to play music with Mr. Veasley. All the students learned about the music industry and what it is like to be a performing artist. Students enjoyed a chance to play a blues riff with Mr.Vealey. Students were also able to ask Mr.Veasley questions and received advice form the jazz artist.

On Wednesday, October 25th, SAS elementary school is proud of all its students and the hard work they apply. For the month of October, several students in grades K-2 earned special recognition for their achievements.
In Kindergarten class K-B, the student of the month was Javahe Perry. Quarterly awards were given as follows: Best Academics went to Bahanii Everett-Dahlke, Most Improved was earned by Key’Vell Sallard, and Best Citizenship went to Sa’Nazja Hickey.
In Kindergarten class K-A, Rahaf Alomeri was student of the month. Rahaf can always be counted on to be caring and helpful in the classroom. She gives each task her best effort, encouraging others to do the same. Rahaf includes others and is genuinely happy for the achievement of her classmates. She is a role model and a pleasure to have in class.
Students in Class1B established trustworthiness as their character trait of the month, which means being honest and telling the truth. That's exactly what student of the month Amelia Destito did and does! Amelia is hard working and a role model for others. We are proud of her accomplishments. Best Academics went to Gemil Camby, Best Citizenship was awarded to Seham Tanya, and Most Improved was Navy'An King.

On Thursday, October 26th, 2017, SAS elementary school is proud of all its students and the hard work they apply. For the month of October, several students in grades 3-4 earned special recognition for their achievements.
Class 3A celebrated a very trustworthy student who exudes an honest relationship with his peers and teachers, is always kind, and is someone who can be trusted to do the right thing, even when no one is looking. Class 3A’s student of the month is Evan O’Neill. Three other students earned the following quarterly awards: for High Academics, Irene Garcia; Most Improved, Christian Loften; and Best Citizenship, Iyanna Leary.
The student of the month in class 3B was Jayden MacKool. Most Improved was Juelz Burgos, Best Citizenship was Kymari Cunningham, and Best Academics was Ashton Barfknecht. Justin Boland was October’s student of the month in class 3C was, whileJoshua Jamison earned Best Academics. Caden Labereck earned Most Improved and Isabella Desito earned Best Citizenship. The student of the month in class 4A was Hunter Payne. Best Academics was awarded to Wajih Hassan, Most Improved was earned by Antonio Maddox, and Best Citizenship was awarded to Jefmarie Muniz.

On Tuesday, October 24th, 2017, first graders went to Tim's Pumpkin Patch. First graders picked pumpkins, apples and had a great time.
