SAS Elementary Atoms are Social Butterflies

Syracuse Academy of Science elementary school students prepare to release their butterflies into the wild during their last week of school.

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2021Throughout the school year, Syracuse Academy of Science elementary school students have been learning all about butterflies and their life cycle. Atoms had an opportunity to raise, a butterfly from a caterpillar and observe and document its natural life cycle. As the students prepared for their last day of school, they also got ready for a bittersweet moment of saying goodbye and releasing their butterflies into the wild, with hopes of seeing them sometime soon. What a fun STEM activity Atoms, we hope that you can reunite with your butterflies throughout the summer.
