Monday, May 18, 2020—When the pandemic halted everything in the American Sign Language (ASL) interactive classroom, #SASAtoms found a way to share the love of ASL remotely. ASL is a visual 3-D language with a rich cultural background along with facial expressions, body language/movement, and gestures. In this video, Mr. Nimmo and his ASL students incorporate the passion of ASL that needs to be shared with the Deaf and Hearing community with positivity and self-learning. Friday, May 8, 2020—Earlier this month, Christine Kitano, an assistant professor at @ithacacollege gave our #SASAtoms a special virtual visit. Ms. Kitano teaches courses in poetry and Asian American Literature. She is also an author and has written two poetry books of her own.
