SANY SMS and Text Messaging Terms

Science Academies of New York (SANY) offers SMS/text notifications for parents/guardians, students, and staff who choose to receive them.

What you’ll receive

• General school notifications: attendance notices, schedule changes, event reminders, academic updates.
• Time-sensitive alerts: weather delays/closures and other urgent operational updates.
  (Marketing/promotional messages are not sent.)

Message frequency
Varies by school activity; typically 2–6 messages per month, with additional messages for time-sensitive alerts as needed.

How to enroll (opt-in)

• Text keyword: Text JOIN to [Your School’s SMS Number].
• Enrollment/registration: Check the SMS consent box on student enrollment forms.
• Parent Portal: Enable SMS notifications in your profile’s communication preferences.

Opt-out / Stop
You can opt out at any time by replying STOP (or END, QUIT, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE). You may also update preferences in the Parent Portal or contact us.

Charges & delivery
Message and data rates may apply. Message delivery is subject to your mobile carrier; carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Emergency communications
SANY may send critical safety information through multiple channels (phone, email, website, and/or SMS). If you opt out of SMS, you may still receive emergencies via other channels.

Eligibility
Mobile carriers in the U.S. are supported. You must be the account holder or have the account holder’s permission to enroll.
