Hello SANY families, students, and staff,

The holidays are a great time to reflect on community, gratitude, and connection; values that shine in our SANY family every day.

This has been a year of remarkable success. Our SAS High School team earned first place in both the MOST Bridges Challenge and the Catapult Challenge. Our SAS Middle School students swept the Junior Section with first through fourth place wins. And UAS Junior-Senior High School students competed with seventy students across Central New York, earning second, third, and fourth place in the Senior Section. We also saw increased enrollment in our Dual College Credit program, giving more students access to advanced opportunities.

To our students: thank you for your curiosity, hard work, and the energy you bring into our schools. You inspire us everyday.

To our staff: your dedication, whether in the classroom, at afterschool programs, weekend events, or supporting our buildings, truly makes a difference. Thank you for everything you do.

To our families: thank you for your trust and partnership. Together, we help our scholars grow and thrive.

As we enter the new year, I’m excited for all we will accomplish together. Let’s continue moving forward with purpose and positivity.

Dr. Tolga Hayali

SANY Superintendent

Dr. Tolga Hayali proudly serves as the Superintendent of Science Academies of New York Charter Schools (SANY). He started as the school director at Syracuse Academy of Science Charter School (SASCS) in 2008, overseeing 340 students in grades 7-12. Through his visionary leadership, Dr. Hayali spearheaded the expansion of SASCS into the SANY Charter Schools with his stakeholders and team, now a network of four K-12 charter schools across eight campuses. Today, SANY serves over 3,400 urban students with a dedicated team of more than 450 staff members across three cities: Syracuse, Rochester, and Utica.
