SAS HS Students Visit Local Colleges
Friday, November 15th, 2024: Several Syracuse Academy of Science 11th and 12th graders explored higher education opportunities with visits to St. John Fisher University and The University of Rochester. Accompanied by Mr. Kovar and Mr. Aslan, the students toured the campuses, gaining firsthand experience of college life and the diverse programs each school offers.
College visits like these are invaluable for high school students as they begin to plan their futures. These experiences make college a more tangible and attainable goal. During their visit, students learned about various academic programs, extracurricular activities, and support systems available at each university. From STEM and liberal arts programs to sports and student organizations, the trip highlighted the opportunities awaiting them after high school.
At SAS, we prioritize preparing students for success beyond graduation. College visits provide a critical foundation for informed decision-making, helping students identify what they want in a school and what aligns with their personal and career goals. Exposure to different campuses also encourages students to aim high and explore all their options.
A big thank you to St. John Fisher University and the University of Rochester for hosting our students and making the day educational and inspiring. To our SAS Atoms, keep dreaming big and working hard—your future is bright!
