Friday, March 28, 2025: Students in Ms. Cueto and Mrs. Walzcak's kindergarten class at Syracuse Academy of Science participated in a special activity to learn about Ramadan and its reflection, gratitude, and appreciation values.
Each student wrote something they were grateful for on a heart and placed it in a class gratitude jar. This hands-on activity helped students understand the importance of expressing thankfulness and recognizing the blessings in their lives, a key aspect of Ramadan.
Through this meaningful project, our young learners gained a deeper appreciation for gratitude and embraced the spirit of kindness and reflection that Ramadan encourages.

Monday, March 17th, 2025: Fifth-grade students in Mrs. Mead’s Syracuse Academy of Science math class started their geometry unit with an exciting hands-on activity—constructing robots using quadrilaterals!
Geometry can often confuse students, but Mrs. Mead found a way to make learning about four-sided figures engaging and interactive. Students explored the properties of quadrilaterals while designing and assembling their robot creations. This activity encouraged critical thinking and teamwork while reinforcing key math concepts. The activity strengthened their understanding of geometry and allowed them to showcase their artistic side.
By combining math and creativity, these young scholars gained a deeper appreciation for geometric concepts memorably and engagingly. We can't wait to see what they explore next in their math journey!
Stay tuned for more hands-on learning highlights from our Atoms!

Thursday, March 27th, 2025: Did you know April 1st is National Greeting Card Day? This special day encourages people to share kind and loving messages through greeting cards, spreading joy and positivity.
At Syracuse Academy of Science Elementary, our students are taking this to heart by creating beautiful, heartfelt cards for the senior residents at Brookdale Bellevue Senior Living. Through their thoughtful words and creative designs, they are brightening the day for those in our community who will truly appreciate the kindness.
A simple greeting card can make a huge impact, and we are proud of our Atoms for embracing the spirit of giving and connection.
