One Blessing (Box) at a Time to Help Those in Need

Syracuse Academy of Science middle school Project Based Learning students work together to pitch their concept of a Blessing Box to the Sovereign Grace Baptist Church

Thursday, February 4th, 2021Syracuse Academy of Science middle school Project Based Learning (PBL) students are giving back to their community, one Blessing Box at a time. For their project, Atoms were tasked with pitching their Blessing Box idea to the Sovereign Grace Baptist Church, the location where the winning team’s Blessing Box will be housed. In their presentation, the team of students were tasked with sharing what their box would look like, the contents that would be inside the box and how their box would benefit the community. Congratulations to the winning team, Samara H. Zaleya D. and Enas M. who will construct their box later this year.

  • What is one major accomplishment you had in your senior year of high school? Passed my college classes.
  • What are your goals for after high school? Graduating from basic training and successfully owning my own business.
  • Name one person that inspires you? My mom (Samantha)
  • What advice would you give to the next senior class? Keep your head up, don’t give up, and put your mind to whatever you put your mind to.
  • Where do you see yourself in five years? Owning my own car and house and married.
  • If you could have dinner with any person living or dead who would they be and why? The Obama family and Kobe Bryant.
  • Name three traits that describe you? Smart, successful and blessed.
  • What is your favorite hobby? I like to read from time to time, and make TikTok videos.
  • What is a hidden talent that no one or only a few people know about you? I can do hair.
  • What is your favorite memory of SAS? The pep rally and college visits.

Snow Day Fun

Syracuse Academy of science elementary Atom helped those in need with snow removal on their snow day.

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2021Earlier this week, the Syracuse Academy of Science Atoms were greeted early in the morning by the sweet sound of a ‘SNOW DAY!’ The students took a pause from remote learning and enjoyed the winter wonderland (and feet of snow) with their families and helping neighbors and those in need with snow removal. Stay warm Atoms and keep up the great work.
