Wednesday, October 12th, 2022: Syracuse Academy of Science Third graders weren’t monkeying around on their first field trip of the school year. They took their knowledge from the classroom on animal classification to the Rosamond Gifford Zoo. Students became taxonomists for the day and classified various animals including amphibians, mammals, birds, fish, and reptiles. Students were thrilled to get outside and use their learning in an engaging, hands-on way!
Saturday, October 15th, 2022: Four of our all-star Syracuse Academy of Science seniors played their final regular-season soccer game! Congratulations to Jose Santana, Jamal Abdirahman, Nischal Kharel, and Taha Hayali. Thank you for your hard work and dedication over the last four years.
However, we’re not done quite yet. The next step for the team is the Sectionals. Good luck, and go Atoms!
Wednesday, October 12th, 2022: During fire safety week, Syracuse Academy of Science had the pleasure of having firefighter Gilbert talk to the second graders. Firefighter Gilbert explored fire safety and procedures with the children in case of an emergency. He read the book "No Dragons for Tea" and allowed the atoms to see up close the fire safety equipment firefighters use daily. Mr. Gilbert has a child in second grade, so he was excited to share his profession and knowledge with atoms of the same age!
Thank you, Mr. Gilbert, for being an excellent guest speaker.

Tuesday, October 11th, 2022: Take a peek inside Ms. A-B's Kindergarten Art Class! Syracuse Academy of Science Elementary School Kindergarteners did some painting and learned that two overlapping colors make a new color. For this lesson, students were shown how red and yellow polka dots overlap to make orange! These atoms had fun experimenting with paint to create their masterpieces!
