SAS Senior Taking on International Science Fair

Syracuse Academy of Science Scholar Embarks on Prestigious ISEF Journey

Friday, May 10th, 2024: Syracuse Academy of Science High School senior Migual Mathis is about to participate in a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! 

From May 12th to May 17th, Migual will travel to Los Angeles for the 2024 International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) hosted by The Society for Science and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals. Migual will compete in the Computational Biology and Bioinformatics Category for his project, a Computational Assessment of Apigenin as a Protein-Based Therapeutic Targeting Mucin-1.

Millions of high schoolers compete for one of the 1700 spots offered at ISEF, representing 60 countries. It's the largest and most prestigious science fair in the world. Over 9 million dollars will be given out in awards and scholarships.
