CJ Butler of Salt City Market Visits SAS MS

Tuesday, February 10th, 2026: Syracuse Academy of Science Middle School was proud to welcome CJ Butler from Salt City Market, an initiative of the Allyn Foundation, as part of our Career Series.

Ms. Butler, the Marketing and Communications Director for Salt City Market, shared valuable insight into her professional journey and what she enjoys most about her role. She spoke about the creativity involved in marketing, the importance of strong community connections, and the meaningful impact of her work.

Students learned about Salt City Market’s mission to uplift the Syracuse community by creating opportunities and providing essential resources for local small business owners. Her message highlighted how careers in marketing and communications can play a powerful role in strengthening neighborhoods and supporting entrepreneurship.

After hearing about the many restaurants located inside the Market, students were especially excited—and a little hungry!
