Friday, February 13th, 2026: The Syracuse Academy of Science Middle School building transformed into a full science lab as students proudly presented their projects at this year’s Science Fair. With hypotheses in the air, tri-fold boards on display, and curiosity leading the way, our scholars demonstrated creativity, critical thinking, and a passion for discovery.
A total of 60 projects were entered into the competition, representing dozens of experiments, innovative ideas, and dedicated young scientists exploring real-world scientific questions.
1st Place: Judith E — “Copper's pH Achilles Heel: What's Eating Your Pipes?”
2nd Place: Janell W — “Crime Scene Chemistry”
3rd Place: McKenzie M — “Water vs. Water: Which Is The Cleanest?”
Class Favorite: Isabella D — “Make The Wind Work For You”
1st Place: Carys R — “Comparing Sugar & Sugar Substitutes”
2nd Place: Zaheyda I — “Greenhouse Effect”
3rd Place: Aziyah C — “Potato Clock”
Class Favorite: Everly G — “Black Ink?”
We congratulate all of our participants for their hard work and curiosity. Through testing, measuring, revising, and trying again, our scholars demonstrated one of the most important lessons in science: progress matters more than perfection.
We are incredibly proud of our young scientists and look forward to seeing what they discover next year.
