Local Author Damara Allen Visits SAS ES

Syracuse Academy of Science 4th Graders are Visited by Local Author

Friday, June 20th, 2025: Syracuse Academy of Science Elementary School welcomed local author Damara Allen for a special visit with our fourth-grade Atoms.

Ms. Allen shared her newly published book, The Skeleton Flute—a heartfelt and imaginative story about a young boy navigating his parents’ divorce, a mysterious flute, and the unexpected consequences that come with wishes granted. The book sparked thoughtful conversations among students, who connected with the themes of family, emotion, and resilience.

Students who brought their own copies were thrilled to receive personalized autographs from the author herself!

We thank Ms. Allen for inspiring our young readers and Ms. Wingenbach for organizing such a meaningful and memorable experience.
