SAS 4th Graders Explore the Rosamond Gifford Zoo

Tuesday, December 16th, 2025: Syracuse Academy of Science Elementary School 4th graders enjoyed a snowy field trip to the Rosamond Gifford Zoo. Despite the cold weather, our Atoms had a fantastic time exploring both indoor and outdoor exhibits.

Students learned that many animals are actually more active in colder temperatures, giving them the chance to watch camels playing and penguins swimming. The experience also included a visit to the indoor pretend veterinary center, where students explored animal care through hands-on learning.

This trip provided a fun and educational opportunity for students to connect classroom learning with real-world experiences. Another excellent example of learning beyond the classroom!
