SAS 4th Graders Win Team Spirit Award at Bridges Challenge

Saturday, November 9th, 2024: Fourth-grade Syracuse Academy of Science Elementary Bridge Building Club members proudly represented their school at the annual Bridges Challenge at the Museum of Science and Technology (MOST). Competing in the Junior Division, the SAS toms worked in teams to construct efficient bridges using only balsa wood and glue, testing their designs against those from other schools.

Though the teams did not place in the Junior Division, their hard work and enthusiasm earned them the Team Spirit Award—a testament to their collaboration, positivity, and support for each other throughout the challenge.

The experience was a fantastic opportunity for our young scholars to explore engineering concepts hands-on, build resilience, and gain confidence through teamwork. Congratulations to our SAS Elementary Bridge Building Club for their outstanding effort and team spirit!
