SAS 5th Grade Atoms Explore Baltimore Woods

Syracuse Academy of Science Scholars Become One with Nature

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2025: Syracuse Academy of Science fifth-grade students visited Baltimore Woods in Marcellus for an exciting hands-on science experience! 

During the trip, students learned about the different types of animals, including carnivores, omnivores, and herbivores. While exploring the nature trails, they investigated clues such as animal skulls and footprints to determine which creatures were predators and which were prey.

Through these activities, students gained a deeper understanding of the food chain while enjoying a day of hiking and outdoor exploration. It was an engaging and educational experience that brought science to life outside the classroom!
