SAS 5th Grade Scientists Investigate Chemical Reactions
Wednesday, April 23rd, 2025: Mrs. Swidowski’s fifth-grade science class at Syracuse Academy of Science became a team of scientists and detectives during an exciting hands-on lab called “What’s in the Bag?”
Students used their observation skills to investigate what happens when a mystery substance is added to water. As they watched the mixture react and change, they made predictions, took detailed notes, and discussed their findings with classmates.
Like real scientists, Atoms collected and analyzed data to form solid conclusions about the new substance they created. This engaging lab allowed students to explore chemical reactions while building critical thinking and teamwork skills.
Great job, young scientists! Keep exploring, questioning, and discovering!
