SAS 6th Graders Celebrate with a Birthday-Themed ELA Lesson

Thursday, October 16th, 2025: Miss Woodhams’ 6th graders had a fun and educational celebration of her birthday in class!

Students engaged in a variety of hands-on ELA activities, including:

• Writing plans for a surprise party with a focus on sensory details

• Completing a Mad Libs activity to practice parts of speech

• Playing charades to strengthen the concept of “showing rather than telling”

• Participating in a word association game to expand vocabulary

It was a creative and interactive way to combine celebration with learning, making the classroom a fun place to explore language and writing.
