Wednesday, January 28th, 2026: Syracuse Academy of Science Elementary School continues to strengthen literacy instruction by investing in professional development for instructional leaders. Dean Miller and the Academic Coaches participated in training with The Reading League, focused on the Science of Reading and strengthening data-driven practices in English Language Arts instruction.
The training emphasized evidence-based strategies, including structured literacy and the use of student data to guide instruction, monitor progress, and target support where it is needed most. This approach helps ensure English classes are responsive to student needs and focused on improving literacy outcomes.
By prioritizing research-based and data-informed instruction, SAS Elementary School reinforces its commitment to building strong readers and supporting student success across all classrooms.
