SAS MS Achieves Gold in CNY Bridges Challenge
Saturday, November 9th, 2024: Congratulations to Syracuse Academy of Science Middle School 6th-grade students for their outstanding achievement at the MOST Bridges Challenge! Competing against teams from across the region, these talented scholars built a bridge recognized for its strength and engineering efficiency, securing a well-deserved first-place win!
The winning team—Yussuf Farah, Nahla Barnes, Stanly Banos, Ghaith Wazir, and Leila Barnes—demonstrated remarkable creativity, teamwork, and technical skills. Together, they constructed a bridge using balsa wood and glue, meeting the challenge of designing the most efficient structure to support a heavy load.
Special appreciation goes to the teachers, family members, and supporters who encouraged these remarkable young engineers throughout their preparation and competition. This victory marks a proud moment for the school and showcases SAS students' hard work and determination.
