SAS MS Atoms Earn First Place in the CNY Catapult Challenge

Saturday, October 17th, 2026: Congratulations to Syracuse Academy of Science Middle School fifth, sixth, and seventh graders for an outstanding performance at the MOST Museum Catapult Challenge!

Competing against 91 teams and 175 students, the Atoms showcased their creativity, engineering skills, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork.

🏆 First Place in the Junior Division: Seventh-grade team “Still Loading...” launched their way to the top, earning first place in the junior division!

👏 Team Spirit & Sportsmanship Award: Sixth-grade team “Final Shot” was recognized for demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship and team spirit throughout the competition.

We are incredibly proud of all our scholars for putting their STEM skills into action and representing SASMS with enthusiasm and determination. Congratulations to our Atoms on these fantastic achievements!
