SAS MS STEAM Club Explores Future Careers in STEM
Saturday, February 8th, 2025: The Syracuse Academy of Science Middle School STEAM Club had an incredible opportunity to participate in the Future Women in STEM event at The Museum of Science & Technology.
During this hands-on experience, our scholars worked alongside Perimetek Pest Management to explore the field of pest control and environmental science.
Students engaged in interactive learning stations, which included:
Data analysis, where they learned how to track pest activity using scientific methods.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) safety demonstrations highlighted the different types of gear required for various situations. Up-close encounters with various critters and their habitats provide students with a better understanding of pest behavior and environmental impact.
This event gave our students valuable real-world STEM insights, sparking their curiosity and strengthening their problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
We are so proud of our future scientists and innovators for their dedication to learning and exploration!
