SU Student Athletes Share Skills with Fifth Graders
On Friday, March 22, 2019, several Syracuse University football players, rowers, and dancers came to the Middle School to share their athletic training and experience with some of our 5th-grade students. They discussed how they manage their daily schedules and balance commitments to their teams. Some topics included the importance of creating and carrying an agenda, acclimating to a new place (one rower was from Amsterdam), and being dedicated to one’s team. Students were eager to ask questions, and at the end of the discussion, they got to play basketball and knock out with the athletes. Some of the SU dancers taught cheerleading steps and the students had an opportunity to show off their flips. Hands down, it was a spectacular way to learn.
