Syracuse Police Officers Inspire SAS HS Students
Tuesday, April 29th, 2025: On a recent visit to Syracuse Academy of Science, high school students had the opportunity to hear directly from two members of the Syracuse Police Department: Sergeant Dallas Pelz and Officer Shaquille Muhammad, a proud SAS alum.
The visit was more than just a presentation. It was a meaningful conversation about public service, perseverance, and the impact of education. Officer Muhammad shared his journey from an SAS student to a law enforcement officer, offering a powerful example of how dedication and hard work in high school can shape a prosperous future.
Sergeant Pelz and Officer Muhammad explained what it takes to become a police officer, discussed the challenges and rewards of protecting and serving the community, and emphasized the importance of integrity and commitment. They also encouraged students to stay focused on their goals and to take their education seriously, as it forms the foundation for every career path.
The visit left a lasting impression on our Atoms, who were inspired by the officers' real-life stories and relatable advice.
Thank you, Sergeant Pelz and Officer Muhammad, for giving your time, sharing your experiences, and showing our students what it means to lead with purpose and pride.
