Thursday, September 30th, 2021—In late September, Syracuse Academy of Science high school hosted its annual Back to School night, for their students and families. During this time-honored tradition students and their families had an opportunity to visit and meet with their teachers, as well as, pick up a customized SANY swag bag, goodies and treats. It was so great to see everyone that attended, and it was a perfect way to kick-off the school year.

Friday, September 24th, 2021—Syracuse Academy of Science middle school project based learning students (PBL) in Ms. Obrist’s class will share the love of reading with the greater Syracuse community this year.
Earlier this month, students raised awareness of this community project and called for donations from its community members. It’s with great pleasure that we share with you today, the students have achieved their goal in earning funding for their little free libraries and look forward to spreading the love of reading and books to others in need.
Keep up the great work Atoms, we look forward to seeing pictures of the little free libraries later this school year!

Friday, September 17th, 2021—During their first week of school, Syracuse Academy of Science elementary school students in grades 2-4 put their creativity and strategic thinking skills to work when playing Hasbro’s classic game, Jenga. Now this version of Jenga was like no others, as students were tasked with pulling blocks that corresponded to the colors on their flashcards. Now remember, what goes up, must come down! Keep up the great work, Atoms.

Friday, September 17th, 2021—During their first week of school Syracuse Academy of Science middle school Project Based Learning (PBL) students participated in the ‘What’s in the Room’ sales pitch project. For this particular project, students were given 20 minutes to not only choose an item in the room, but they also had to brainstorm creative ways on how they would work as a team to sell this item to an esteemed panel of judges, Mrs. Elmer and Ms. Obrist.
Atoms were also tasked with creating a flyer that includes the name of their project, its logo, slogan, its cost and where their product would be distributed or sold. Great job Atoms, or should we say future entrepreneurs!

Saturday, September 11th, 2021—It’s hard to believe that 20 years ago to this day, our lives tragically changed. Many of us know where we were when we heard the news that day. Some of us heard it on the radio, or watched the news that morning. While others may have heard the news from a coworker or a family member or friend. A day in history that we will never forget.
Today, we mourn those who lost their lives, and grieve with those who lost friends and family. We would like to take this moment to thank all of our brave first responders, and those who have served or are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces. United we stand.
