Friday, March 24th, 2023: Syracuse Academy of Science believes real-life experience is just as important as lessons in the classroom. Therefore, students are taken on several field trips every year. Kindergarteners stepped out of the school and into some fun at Little Ray's Nature Center. Little Ray’s is right inside Destiny Mall, and although their name may be "little," they are packing some big fun! Atoms saw and touched animals, from turtles, snakes, and other reptiles down to a tarantula! Some kindergarteners were even willing to hold the tarantula! Scholars had a great time learning about these animals.
Monday, May 15th, 2023: Students and families gathered to celebrate the arts at Syracuse Academy of Science High School with our Spring Music Concert and Art Show. Students in choir and band performed a show-stopping concert with music in several different styles, featuring solos from students and small ensembles in addition to the full band. 9th through 12th graders showcased their artwork in 2D and 3D. Art students have created projects such as Art Nouveau, Realism, color theory, and many more. Students even created sculptures using the "Trompe-l'oeil," which means style to deceive or trick the eye.
Everyone enjoyed a reception sponsored by Wegmans following the concert. What a tremendous year the arts had at SAS! We can't wait to see what the 2023-24 school year will bring!
Monday, March 6th, 2023: Syracuse Academy of Science Middle School Student Council members gave back to their school community with a library project!
