Monday, November 30th, 2020—Due to remote learning this week, the Syracuse Academy of Science Elementary School’s Picture Day has been rescheduled for a later date. Tuesday, December 1st, 2020—Going back to school may be easier than you think. Come join us virtually on Tuesday, December 1st or Wednesday, December 2nd as Syracuse Academy of Science collaborates with SUNY Onondaga Community College and OCM Boces - Adult Education, for a Virtual Adult Education Information Session. 

As part of Syracuse Academy of Science elementary school’s college week, team members of each school will share new opportunities that are available to New York State residents and Syracuse community members. Please see the details below as to how you can participate. We hope that you can join us!

Wednesday, November 25th, 2020—In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday there will be no school on Wednesday, November 25th through Friday, November 27th. School will resume on Monday, November 30th.

We are thankful for all of our incredible students, teachers and community. Enjoy this long weekend, Atoms!

SANY in collaboration with Chartwells has developed a [contactless drive through] meal service that will allow students greater access to food while at home.

Who Qualifies

• All students enrolled in SANY Schools are eligible to participate.
• All children 18 or younger are eligible to participate.
• Children do not need to be enrolled in SANY Schools to participate.
• All students are eligible to pick up meals at their enrolled site.

Registration and Pickup
To participate, parents/guardians can pre-register for the following week directly at the pickup locations a week in advance. All you need to do is let the staff at the pick-up location know how many meals you want to pick up the following week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

• SAS Citizenship - 11/24, 12/1, 12/3 10 am - 12 pm
• SAS Middle School - 11/24, 12/1, 12/3 10 am - 12 pm
• SAS High - 11/24, 12/1, 12/3 10 am - 12 pm
• UAS Elementary/High - 11/24, 12/1, 12/3 9 am - 11 am
• UAS Middle School - 11/24, 12/1, 12/3 10am – 12pm

Cost
Meals are free for all children up to 18 years old.

Friday, November 20th, 2020—Color us excited as we share that our young elementary Atoms or should we say artists masterpieces have been selected to proudly display virtually during the 72nd Annual New York State Art Teacher Association Conference. The beautiful artwork from 25 of our Syracuse Academy of Science elementary Atoms can be viewed any time from Friday, November 20th through Sunday, November 22nd. Saturday, November 14th, 2020—Save the Date, Atoms as the MOST’s CNY Build ‘Em and Bust ‘Em Challenge will take place virtually on Saturday, November 14th at 9:00 AM. Our very own Syracuse Academy of Science Elementary Atom, Leyla Hayali will be competing against a handful of schools in this STEM competition. Wednesday, November 11th, 2020—In observance of Veterans Day there will be no school on Wednesday, November 11^th. School will resume on Thursday, November 12^th.

Monday, November 9th, 2020—Syracuse Academy of Science Elementary school will be hosting its annual Scholastic Book Fair, virtually on Monday, November 9th through Sunday, November 22nd. Teachers will be holding a virtual tour with the hybrid Atoms to introduce the students to the Scholastic Book Fair. Please click here to explore the 360* Virtual Tour.

The Scholastic Book Fair is a great opportunity to support the school, and help your child discover new books, favorite characters, complete series and more!

 

Friday, November 6th, 2020—Come and enjoy an evening of literature adventure from the comfort of your own home on Friday, November 6th as Syracuse Academy of Science Elementary school hosts a Virtual Literacy Night.
