Thanksgiving Closure Meal Pick Up

SANY in collaboration with Chartwells has developed a [contactless drive through] meal service that will allow students greater access to food while at home.

Please see below for pickup times at each school over the Thanksgiving Break Closure.

Who Qualifies

  • All students enrolled in SANY Schools are eligible to participate.
  • All children 18 or younger are eligible to participate.
  • Children do not need to be enrolled in SANY Schools to participate.
  • All students are eligible to pick up meals at their enrolled site.

Registration and Pickup
To participate, parents/guardians can pre-register for the following week directly at the pickup locations a week in advance. All you need to do is let the staff at the pick-up location know how many meals you want to pick up the following week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

PICK-UP Locations and times:

  • SAS Elementary - 11/24, 12/1, 12/3 9 am- 11 am
  • SAS Citizenship - 11/24, 12/1, 12/3 10 am - 12 pm
  • SAS Middle School - 11/24, 12/1, 12/3 10 am - 12 pm
  • SAS High - 11/24, 12/1, 12/3 10 am - 12 pm
  • UAS Elementary/High - 11/24, 12/1, 12/3 9 am - 11 am
  • UAS Middle School - 11/24, 12/1, 12/3 10am – 12pm

Cost
Meals are free for all children up to 18 years old.

Virtual Art Conference

The artwork of 25 of Syracuse Academy of Science Elementary Atoms will proudly be virtually displayed during the 72nd Annual New York State Art Teachers Association Conference from November 20th through 22nd.

Build Em Bust Em Competition

MOST’s CNY Build ‘Em and Bust ‘Em Challenge will take place virtually on Saturday, November 14th at 9:00 AM. Syracuse Academy of Science Elementary Atom, Leyla Hayali will be competing.

There will be no school on Wednesday, November 11th in observance of Veterans Day.

Scholastic Book Fair

Syracuse Academy of Science Elementary school hosts its annual Scholastic Book Fair virtually on Monday, November 9th through Sunday, November 22nd.

Trunk-Or-Treat

Syracuse Academy of Science Middle School is hosting a Trunk-or-Treat and Food Drive on Friday, October 30th from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Masks are required.

Friday, October 30th, 2020Middle School Atoms are inviting you to drive by for a spell at their Trunk-or-Treat and Food Drive on Friday, October 30th from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Middle School teachers will be in costume and cars will be decorated. Donate a canned good for a chance to win a prize. Masks are required, we hope to see you there.

Free HBCU Virtual College Fair for High School Atoms

UCAN is hosting a free virtual HBCU College Fair for high school students on Thursday, October 15th through Saturday, October 17th.

Thursday, October 15th, 2020The United College Action Network, Inc. (UCAN) is hosting a free virtual Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) college fair Thursday, October 15th through Saturday, October 17th. Sessions will begin at 3:00 PM PST. If high school students are interested in attending please click here to register.

This is a great opportunity not only for students, but parents alike to learn more about the various HBCU’s. Official college and university Admission Directors, Admission Counselors, and West Coast recruiters from over 40 of the country’s leading HBCUs will be recruiting college-bound seniors through this virtual event. High school seniors will have the opportunity to receive ‘on-the-spot’ admissions, scholarships, financial aid information, and face-to-face exposure with many of the most respected historically black institutions of higher learning within the United States.

Additional Virtual College Fair times include:

  • Saturday, October 17th - 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM PST
