On Wednesday, May 2nd, 2018 #SASCS high school students took a break from Turkish language class to explore Niagara Falls and the city of Toronto in Canada. For many students, it was their first experience crossing the border into another country. The #SASAtoms visited the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. Students had to earn their meal and practice their Turkish language skills by ordering their lunch in another language at a local Turkish restaurant. Go Atoms!
On April, 22nd, 2018 #SASCS students from Turkish and Spanish classes traveled to Queens and Manhattan to attend a Language & Culture Fair. Students enjoyed the program prepared by fellow students from all over the world, learned about global cultures, and celebrated diversity. They also visited New York City and Times Square. On Wednesday, May 2nd, 2018 students from #SASCS showcased work from art and music classes. Students performed on guitar, piano, voice, and in the band. We celebrated the year with awards and a reception following the concert for students and families. Go Atoms! and Art Show. #SASAtoms
On Sunday, April 29th, 2018, students from the #SASCS Middle School traveled to Cornell University to attend the Girls in Math competition. Students there enjoyed different layers of competition as they pitted themselves against young ladies from districts across New York State. Additionally, attendees learned about the female trailblazers in the field of Mathematics. These competitions help exemplify our commitment to opening the doors to STEM careers for the amazing young ladies in our school! Go ATOMS! #SASAtoms
On Friday, April 20, 2018, #SASCS high school students kicked off spring break with a talent show and student Olympics. Go Atoms!
On Friday, April 20th, 2018 fourth-grade took a field trip to Painting With a Twist in Dewitt. We were able to create our own unique masterpieces that correlate with our curriculum in science and social studies. While our paintings dried, we played fun games with our peers. We had a great time getting out some creative energy before Spring Break.
On Tuesday, April 17th, 2018, the #SASCS Middle School held its 3rd quarter award ceremony. This included a variety of awards from Student of the Month (based on the character trait dependability), Best Academic, Best Citizen, and more. Many parents were on hand to celebrate the amazing achievements of their students. Celebrating success if one of the biggest goals of our school and this stage exemplifies the amazing commitment demonstrated by our students. Continue to shine ATOMS! #SASAtoms #SASCS
On Thursday, April 12th, 2018 the #SASCS Chapter of the National Honor Society held its induction ceremony. Throughout the year, members of our chapter serve as role models for other students. In addition to the strong academic records which establish eligibility for membership, chapter members are leaders in many student organizations and we serve their school and community through many activities. We are proud of this record of accomplishment and welcome these new members who bring new energy in support of the continuing work of the NHS members. Go Atoms! #SASCS #SASAtoms
