Tuesday, December 27th, 2022: We want to take some time to give one of our superstar athletes a huge shoutout! Janet Ginarte was voted 2nd team all-league for the 2022 volleyball season. As a team captain, she led the team in overall aces with a school record of over 100 during her career at Syracuse Academy of Science high school.
Congratulations, Janet! Well done!

Schools across the country are launching the "Veg Out" program. SAS High school will offer these plant-based meals for 30 days, then will recess based on how many students are taking advantage of the option.
Tuesday, November 15th, 2022: Syracuse Academy of Science Charter School is thrilled to share that our urban youth in the Syracuse area have received a grant from The Baxter International Foundation to expand our STEM work with our students. Their generous support helps us to enhance our STEM programs by providing VR headsets and 3D printers. The funding will also help further our robotics programs, allowing students hands-on experience.
Our students can connect the power of their minds to the thrill of creating, exploring, and generating innovative solutions to solve old and new problems. We are excited about this gift and the support we are getting to develop the next generation of caring and contributing leaders.
Friday, November 11th, 2022: “This nation will remain the land of the free only as long as it is home of the brave.”-- Elmer Davis.

Friday, September 16th, 2022: Hola! National Hispanic Heritage Month began yesterday. It’s celebrated annually in the United States from September 15 to October 15 to recognize the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the history and culture that shape the U.S. today. Did you know the observations started in 1968 under President Lyndon Johnson, but it wasn’t enacted into law until 1988? Each year focuses on a different theme, and this year it’s “Unidos: Inclusivity for a Stronger Nation.”
Thursday, August 11, 2022: Hard work and dedication deserve recognition. Syracuse Academy of Science is now eligible to award volunteers in the greater Syracuse area for President's Volunteer Service Awards (PSVA). This award honors individuals whose service positively impacts communities in every corner of the nation and inspires those around them to take action, too.
On behalf of the President's Volunteer Service Award program, Mr. Yaman has been granted authority by the PVSA program through an application and review process to give out the PSVA to volunteers. Mr. Yaman can verify that a volunteer has met the requirements to receive a PSVA within the 12 months specified by the Certifying Organization. Only Certifying Organizations can certify volunteers' eligibility for the PVSA and order awards.
This chart describes the criteria needed to be considered for the award.
