The Atoms are Packing Their Bags

Saturday, January 18, 2020—Is your phone charged? Did you bring an extra jacket? What is the address of the hotel again? You brought what kind of shoes?! During a recent trip to Boston, it was Juniors Daniel Pontello and Ron'Nal Glover's responsibility to ask the planning questions. In pursuit of The Congressional Award, Atoms must successfully plan an Exploration trip to an unfamiliar culture. Juniors Pontello and Glover chose to explore a new historical area or culture by coordinating a trip to the city of Boston. Atoms walked the cobblestone streets of the North End, turned through the courtyard at Harvard and explored the sights and smells of Faneuil Hall Marketplace. Way to go, Atoms!

Many students had never ice skated before, and they used their growth mindset to get back up and keep trying. Teachers were so proud of their Atoms for not giving up and helping their friends. Whether someone needed help getting up off the ice, or some encouragement to keep going, there was always a friend willing to lend a helping hand! Thank you, Meachem Ice Rink, for the wonderful visit.
